Internet Protocol

Internet Protocol is the "IP" in TCP/IP and UDP/IP.

The Internet Protocol suite are the protocols used to communicate across networks (inter-networking), such as on the Internet. Nodes on an IP network are identified by their IP address.

IP packets can be carried in, amongst many other things, Ethernet frames, and can themselves carry TCP and UDP data.
