mspgss cvs file download

Posted by Nolte919 on June 16, 2010
I'm trying to build mspgss from source code. According to the instructions at http://mspgcc.sourceforge.net/manual/c1685.html#the-mspgcc-specific-code I tried to obtain the MSP430 specific code directly from the CVS repository. Only when I try to login to cvs in cygwin I get a "Connection refused" error. Specifically it says:
$ cvs login
Logging in to :pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:2401/cvsroot/mspgcc
CVS password:
cvs [login aborted]: connect to cvs.sourceforge.net(216.34.181.96):2401 failed:
Connection refused

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Using the wrong support forum?

"Using the wrong support forum?"

Really? It's a freertos project, the URL I'm looking at right now for this forum says freertos right in it. The link from the FreeRTOS site led me here. Where should I be?

But the instructions you mentiion point to mspgcc as the project, and the problem seems to be that project related, so it would seem more reasonable to ask there for help. Just because it is a tool used to compile a specific processor port of FreeRTOS, doesn't mean that many of us have any experience with building that tool from source.

It would seem that asking for help on the mspgcc support forum would make a lot more sense, the people there have a much better chance of being knowledgeable of how that works.

I couldn't find an mspgcc forum but there is a mailing list. I'll try that. Thanks.
